Mood: Closer to the sea now
28th September 2005
Windsurfing: Overcombe
Wind Direction: SW
Wind Stength: F5-7
Surf / Sea State: Choppy
Air Temperature: 19
Sea Temperature: OK
Weather: Overcast
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Quick dash from work and I was at Overcombe by 6 pm after a quick detour around the roadworks on Upwey. After a chat with someone who was derigging I opted for a 4.7 but it looked a bit iffy so I went for the fat boy's wave board. It was also the first outing for the new carbon boom.

Planed straight out from the beach and was stacked on the outside. The chop was quite tightly spaced but there was plenty of opportunities for air time. The difference in the gusts with the carbon boom was quite significant, there was a definite increase in control.

I only had an hour before the light faded to the point that I couldn't judge the sea state at the speed I was going. Excellent fun and probably the last time out after work until spring. Still, off to Tiree on Friday so it's not all bad.
